Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thy fighter. She is currently a fighter within the UFC Flyweight division. She is the elder sister of fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko first began combat sports as an Muay Thai boxer. Shevchenko made her debut in the IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals with a unanimous vote. Antonina continued to win and took home a silver medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008 a gold medal in 2011 and the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia has started her professional journey at the age of three, was awarded in 2012 and 2016 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championships. The WMC World Championships also held in 2016, and she was crowned the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonina has fought her last time against Isa Tsidblad Keskikangas at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The victory was achieved by unanimity. Antonina Shevchenko set her professional MMA record in 2002 during KFK's Cup in Kyrgystan in a fight with Anara Bayanova. She took the fight by TKO at the end of round 2 and the subsequent 2 matches were held during the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko committed herself to kickboxing, and took a long time off of MMA. She returned to fight in 2017 and faced Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa via unanimous decision before prevailing over Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She left in 2018 the competition and began competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina knocked out Nievera using her striking skills that were superior in the final clinch through knees to the body. Following this victory, Antonina received a UFC deal. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters Finale, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko fell to Roxanne modafferi by split decision following her first fight. Antonina bounced back from losing to beat Lucie Pudilova by choking her back in a rear-naked submission during the second round of UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the night in this fight. Shevchenko was 2-2 in her three subsequent matches she won over Ariane Lipski, while falling to Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina has recently been defeated by Casey O'Neill in UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
